How does 308 nm phototherapy work?

308 nm light acts as a regulator of the redox balance in skin cells. It reduces the excess hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) responsible for oxidative stress in vitiligo, improves catalase function, and promotes the production and migration of melanocytes into depigmented areas. By modulating the local immune response, it gradually helps "reset" the cellular memory that keeps vitiligo active.
